Very Poor Quality

I've purchased a Kenwood DDX616 from DiscountsJungle back in July of 2010. I contacted Kenwood's technical support multiple times for help with the unit. The tried to help, gave me their best, but in the end stated that their hands are tied due to me buying the DDX616 from a non authorized dealer (NAD). And due to me buying from a NAD, there is no warranty that Kenwood can give me. So after dealing with my issues and putting up with the volume turning down on its own, not connecting to my ipod, no able to connect to bluetooth automatically, I called discountsjungle again. They stated that it was Kenwoods issue since I was out of the 30 day warranty period with them. I called Kenwood back to explain this, they said there is nothing they can do since discountsJungle is a NAD. Called DJ back, there is nothing we can do and we are sorry. He did go on to remind me that he saved me over $200 when I bought this unit. Thanks, it's a p.o.s. and doesn't work properly.In the end. I will never buy from discountsjungle, will be writing a formal complaint with Amazon about one of their sellers, and I still need a new car stereo.Customer service-horrible, tried to pawn it off to KenwoodUnderstanding- not todayHelp with trying to fix the issue- not my lucky day eitherGoing above and beyond- once again, not my lucky dayMe telling everyone how crappy they are, Priceless.....or something like that.

Good for a while but then....

I must say this was an amazing deck for as long as I had it. But like all technology over time the wear and tear took its toll on the unit itself. As mentioned in another review the boot up could be faster and that's pretty true. Most of the times the stereo wasn't even on until I was backed out of the driveway. The sound quality with my speakers was really good. The shop that I had mount it and install the bluetooth in the car placed the mic in a spot across on the passenger side next to the ac vents. It worked ok as long as I didn't need my ac at all. The interface was pretty good, after a while it wouldn't work well with my iPod classic and would connect whenever it felt like it. It worked perfectly fine on my iPod touch so wasn't too bad of a wash for me. I installed the HD tuner and it definitely made a difference. Sadly enough the faceplate isn't detachable because it wasn't something commonly done when this deck was made so if you are parking in public lots keep that in mind. Mine was just stolen from my car, which isn't the reason for the low rating. I disliked that after about maybe year the product would just randomly shut itself off and reboot while I was in the middle of listening to the radio or iPod. This problem caused me to stop using the bluetooth as I couldn't risk an important phone call being disconnected. Decent product but make sure you don't pay too much you can find way more out there for much less these days.

Excellent head unit.

I've had this unit in my Subaru WRX for two and a half years. I've enjoyed it so much that I feel obligated to write a review now that I'm upgrading to the DDX719. I'm sorry to read about the previous reviews but I can say I have never had a single problem with the head unit.The unit made my stock speakers sound MUCH better than the stereo that came with the car.The interface is very user-friendly with big icons, organized lists, and plenty of options to listen to music (by artist, album, song, playlist, random etc.)Boot up time is 30-40 seconds but that is normal for a head unit of its age and class.I first used a 5 year old ipod and everything worked great. The ipod died so I got an ipod touch and it's worked flawlessly.Bluetooth worked perfectly for my iphone 3GS, iphone 4, iphone 4S, and has worked the best with my Galaxy S3.I wired an Axxess module to it so I could retain my steering wheel controls and everything works the way it should.I feel bad replacing this unit because it's been so great for so long. I'm upgrading my entire system and I want to stream Pandora over bluetooth but the DDX616 just doesn't do bluetooth audio. I'm sure I'll find a buyer for it and they'll love it just as much as I do.To the reviewer where the unit shut off randomly: If you are on a call and the bluetooth connection is lost, it does not end the call. The phone will know it lost the connection and will switch to normal phone mode without interupting the call.

Great product

I just installed this model in my 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser. Not only does it look fantastic, but it is great to finally have a built-in GPS, not to mention the iPod/iPad and USB ports. The GPS was a little confusing to set-up, but other than that it is a great product and fits my dash perfectly.

Feature packed, but with a couple of flaws

This thing is feature PACKED! I don't think they could have squeezed more features into this thing if they'd tried. It has ALL the modern technology capabilities. It can do back up camera input, GPS navigation, Bluetooth input, Television input, the works. I can't think of anything they left out. Its even got an auxilary input for whatever you can come up with. That said, it does have a couple of areas that could stand improvement. The screen itself is great 90% of the time. But get it in direct sunlight, and you will find it very difficult to see what's on it. If you can see it at all. Sun shining directly on the screen makes it pretty much unusable. You'll end up trying to shade the screen with your hand in effort to be able to see what is on it. But, most of the time, its not in direct sun and you can see what is on the screen perfectly.The GPS works great, but you may have to hunt around on some forums on how to set it up. Cause the instructions that came with this thing... well, what instructions? There weren't any. There was just some very basic operation stuff, much of which was written in another language. So count that out. It comes with IGo 8 GPS software, which I find easy to use. But you have to load it in there yourself as its on a microSD card. You can't take the card out, as every time you use the GPS its read from the card. But, this allows you the advantage of using different GPS software. You can choose TomTom, IGo, Route66, and a host of others, if you so choose. Just be aware you'll need to go into the settings of the unit and figure out how to set it up yourself. That's why I recommended online forums for this thing. It runs Windows CE 6.0, which is FAR superior to any previous versions such as the dreaded 5.0 or 4.0. It is essentially cell phone software, and you can expect to eventually see windows CE 7.0 (aka windows phone 7) and even windows 8 (aka windows 8 for tablets) on these types of units eventually. Not that this one would be able to run those. Anyway, I'm very very impressed with this thing for the price. The only other thing I can think of wrong with it, is that the bluetooth audio is somehow tied to the radio audio. Same with the GPS. And they're not set to the same level. So when you end a bluetooth call, and it goes back to playing whatever music you had going, its going to be loud as all get out. But, this can be offset with some of the settings that you can browse through. I have been told that it can be corrected, but have never been able to find how to fully fix it myself. Only halfway fix it so that it doesn't blow my speakers when the caller hangs up when I'm using the bluetooth. The bluetooth itself is also kind of poor, and you kind of have to speak in a loud voice and aim your head at the little mic input on the front of the unit. But I've seen waaay worse units from companies like alpine and kenwood, for literally double the price. And on top of that they have half the features. So for the money, you can't go wrong with this thing.

Good Product, Easy to Install

Good Product and Easy to Install. I will give it 5/5. The only recommendation, I like to suggest, if possible, it will be helpful to add one or two pieces of installation instruction papers. Actually the installation is very simple, just couple of wire plug in. But before I started to do that, I was really a little uncertain, whether I am able to take out the old radio out and put this new device on.

Great Item, Tricky FM Reception

After I first installed and tested this unit, I was pretty upset about the really weak FM reception. I have installed dozens of car stereos over the last 30+ years from Kraco to Sparkomatic to Alpine and the FM reception of this was the worst of them all. Of course I troubleshot all the usual suspects, and guess what helped? I actually pulled OUT the male antenna connector from the female connector at the back of the unit about 1/8 of an inch and it virtually created a new tuner! I was then able to receive all the expected FM stations, even from within my closed garage. I then reconnected the former stereo unit for further troubleshooting and FM reception worked just fine, so I conclude that the female FM antenna connector on the Dual unit is the culprit.Overall I am very happy that this unit is now delivering everything I expected in one very inexpensive, feature-rich package. Easy front-panel iPhone/iPod connectivity, an extremely handy iPhone holder for my long road trips, very good-quality bluetooth transmission, SiriusXM radio, and customizable colors. The optional SXV100V1 for SiriusXM radio was very easy to connect, just like the bluetooth microphone.Note: If you have a dash panel that goes on after the unit is installed like I did, you will probably have to bend the bracket of the iPhone holder to get the dash panel to fit back on, then simply bend it back afterward. Because of the FM issue, I have bent the bracket twice already and it is very durable.After figuring out the big FM reception problem, I have no problem giving this product 5 stars and highly recommending it.

Great value- UPDATE: blank display and cracked knob

I needed to replace a 1.5 DIN Chrysler radio. I wanted one with a lot of features, and would have liked a navigation radio but the size and location of the dash controls ruled that out (factory radios are still in the $400+ range and do not have other features like Bluetooth).After reading a lot of reviews and spec sheets, I decide don this Dual XDMA6540. I got it for a good price, and it was shipped quickly here on Amazon. The radio came complete and undamaged.Installation was very easy due to a dash kit and wiring adapters I also bought here at the same time. Once I had soldered the adapter to the radio's wiring, it was plug and play.The unit works very well. The iPod holder is a unique and good idea. I am old enough to recall 8 track tape players in cars, and then decades later CD changers and their 15 foot long cables, so the iPod is a compact and easy to use means of music use. The radio's Bluetooth functions worked well with out several year old non-smart phone. I also hooked up a Sirius/XM Satellite box at the same time and it interfaced seamlessly. The color changing face was easy to either match to the car's dash or to select a custom color. I can't comment much on the AM/FM/CD part since we rarely listen to these.I'd recommend this unit to anyone on a budget looking for a multi-function head unit.UPDATED May 2012Since installing the unit, the display has gone blank, rendering it useless to try and switch channels. This unit was installed in a passenger car that is not driven under any severe circumstances such as rough roads. The knob that holds the iPod bracket in place cracked, so the bracket just flopped around, but I was able to repair the knob with JB Weld.The unit has a 1 year limited warranty, so I will see how well that works and update again once that is determined.I would not recommend this unit as it simply did not work past 6 months and is not durable.

Great and Inexpensive

This thing pretty much has it all and is a great and inexpensive unit. This has all these option CD Player, SDCard, Bluetooth, Aux1, Aux2, SiriusXM*, iPod (control), USB, Sub Woofer in, and HD Radio*. You can play your music every way possible.Bluetooth audio streaming and hands free work flawlessly.The things that I wish it had and if they would have had them it I would have given it 5 stars..- For the SiriusXM portion would be nice if it had artist alert, jump to traffic, and be able to pause and rewind the prior 30 minutes- USB port to be active all the time not just when selected so I can charge my phone ;)- Bigger Screen and or Font I have a hard time viewing the screen.- Be able to do a firmware update.****FYI for those who have Sirius (Not XM) you will need either a SXV100 or SXV200 in order for this to work. The catch is that they are both XM Hardware and you will not be able to just transfer your subscription to the SXV's. You will have to activate and open a XM account. I found out the hard way, a Sirius subscriber for the past 6 years and had to switch in order to have SiriusXM on this unit. Even though they merge they are still separate according to Customer Service. (I now know how Stern feels :)) I have two accounts my Sirius for my wife car and now XM for me. Another FYI XM reception isn't as good as Sirius or XM doesn't have as many repeaters. *******Units sold Separately

Dont get fooled by its great looking interface!

I received my MVH-P8200BT yesterday, and installed it. Installation was as normal as any other stereo, except the additional parking brake wire if you want to use the photo or video portion of this radio. Let me first start out by saying the AM & FM portion of the radio work pretty good, you can relatively easily seek to the next or previous station by pushing the knob left or right, or bring up your presets by pushing it up. The radio displays the RDS nicely as well. Changing sources (Radio, ipod/USB, or Aux input requires pressing the SRC button and rotating the tuning knob to the right or left to highlight the source and then pressing the tuning knob in. This in all is relatively easy to do in a timely manner.Where the problem comes in, is using the ipod interface. it will start playing I believe the last song you had playing, but if you want to jump to another artist or lets say a podcast, be prepared to take your eyes off the road. You have to hit the Home button, and then rotate the knob one to the right and then press it in, and rotate the knob to highlight Songs or podcast or artist, and in my case lets do podcast, then the lost of podcast comes up and you have to rotate to the podcast and press the knob in, then it shows you the episodes, then you push it in. But on top of doing this, the tuning knob which is a 5 way control (left, right, up , down, and in) is very sensitive and plan on registering the wrong menu choice, and then having to hit the previous button on the display to pop out one menu and continue. You have to do this anything you want to change songs that are not the next immediate song that you can just press the right commander button to jump to next track.So, I thought, well the nice remote has a left right up and down, and in feature as well. I will do this from the remote with a little more precision, well turns out 70% of the buttons on the remote don't even do anything. any function that requires you to turn that knob on the radio, still has to be done that way. the up and down will not allow you to scroll through menu items. the only real think I was able to do with the remote was volume, next track and previous track, and radio tuning.If you thought it would be nice to be able to play videos from your ipod or photos, it requires a $40 cable with a usb and aux cable now hanging out of the front of the radio per the manual. I did put some photos on the SD card, but you cannot play music from SD while you do your slid show, and again its a cumbersome use of the scroll wheel to jog between music and photos on the SD setup. You are able to play the slide show while listening to the radio.Now for the real good, I think the best integration with this unit is the bluetooth with the iphone or probably many other phones, I was able to easily pull up contacts, and you can quickly choose a letter of the starting letter of the contact and click through to dial the appropriate name and if you want to call mobile or home. And the audio with the included mic is excellent. it will mute your music and continue it when your call is done.The radio looks really good and thats what lead me immediately to this model, but I am ever so sorry I did not test it out before doing the install. I for sure thought the short comings would be overcome by using the remote, but you had no way to test it that well in the store. The remote is useless for iPod navigation or navigation or any SD media. I did get a chance to watch many tutorials online on the Alpine receiver 305 which was made for iPod and it has the navigation the way I would prefer it, thought it does lack characters and you have to scroll most titles, this pioneer was able to display a good character set. Oh and speaking of a feature that Alpine has, it has a nice readable clock. The clock on this is small, there is a feature you can turn on to show a nice clock, but you have to turn it on every time, it doesn't stay on as an option. Even with the radio in off mode, it should show the nice larger clock IMHO, but it doesn't you have to fight menus again to call this up.To summarize, much fighting with a poor jog wheel to drill through menus to make common settings to what you want to listen to. They made it simple to change source and volume and next and previous track everything else gets deep in menus that will take usually 6 to 10 seconds to drill through menus to do, this is not safe in a car and the remote which could have assisted in this matter has much less ability. I think if you can do a double din the AVH-P3200 double din touch screen, is sooo much easier to navigate and for not more then $120 more in general, very upgradable and the addition items you get (CD/DVD slot and DVD playback, you wont be trying to convert stuff to Divx, and you can burn your stuff or bring along your DVD's and you have a bigger screen.

Quite good for the price.

Quite honestly, I feel like the reviews are not really fair for this Head Unit (HU). I upgraded from DEH-P80MP (5 years old!)The first thing I noticed was the jog dial is pretty similar in simple operations. The jog dial works different when in menus though. Most parts of the interface looked user-friendly or at least understandable to me the first day. The only time I had to look at the manual was to setup the Bluetooth which now detects and connects to my iPhone 4 (iOS 4.1) pretty easily, showing all the contacts. Preset dials are handy. I use the presets 90% of the time.Pros:- I like the screen quality. Bright in the day unlike P3200BT- Looks nice in my car- The Bluetooth works FLAWLESSLY (Audio quality, auto connect, receiving calls)- SD card (mine is 8GB) hides behind the face and you can leave it there for the times you don't want the USB cable there- Reads my USB flash (super-talent, 16GB - 5GB of music) fast enough. 1.5 - 2 seconds- Reads iPhone instantly- Remembers the song playing from USB flash or SD even if you attach an iPhone and then plug the flash again- Has lots of features and the audio quality is good- uses most of the screen to show information about songs- Now it's cheaper than other HQ HUs with similar capabilities (I should have waited to get the discounts too)- Scrolls through songs much faster than a couple of other HUs I have seenNeutral:- Can't change the volume easily when showing radio presets (requires a few clicks)- Pioneer changed the plug from what they used in old DEH series. (Needs some rewiring)- Searching for song in iPod/iPhone is not very easy, but I can't really think of a more efficient way of browsing them from HU. You can make a "shortcut" (custom menu) for it which makes it more handy. What I don't like about some reviews is expecting to search for artists and playlists without having eyes off the road. Is there an audio system you can search for artists, albums and songs without looking at it?- Asks a few extra questions before dialing a number from phone book.- No music streaming through Bluetooth. I don't need it anyway, because Bluetooth is not going to control the iPhone through HU.- A bit slow for loading the next song when playing from iPod/iPhone (a fraction of a second delay after you press next)Cons:- iPod/iPhone cable which works with IP-BUS (the port on the back) will not control the iPod from HU. I had the cable from my old DEH and Connected it. It plays the music, but I realized that cable is not capable of controlling the iPod/iPhone. (Although no one said the would. I just thought that way and got disappointed when I learned that it doesn't)- For an unknown reason, it does not remember the recent calls for Bluetooth (maybe I have to read the directions again)Overall, I love the unit. It's much better than my old DEH series HU with all those CDs hanging around my car. I could use an extra USB on the back, but I can't really complain about that because I knew it when I ordered it.

Problems, lots of problems.

I've had a number of problems with this stereo. The first problem is the navigation wheel. It's a neat concept, but it has some flaws. The main problem is that in order to select some items you must click the wheel in the dead center. This is incredibly difficult to do while driving. What happens most often is, instead of hitting the button dead on, you end up pushing it in one of the various navigation directions. Depending on what function you are performing, this can be a very frustrating process.I've also had a number of problems when using the SD slot. The unit is incredibly slow at reading the card. I read in the manual that if you have a large folder hierarchy it can lead to this problem. As a workaround, I collapsed the folder hierarchy on the card and placed all of my files in one directory. This allowed the card or read much faster - but I found another major problem: the unit can only read a maximum of 255 files in any folder.I contacted technical support about this problem. They informed me that this is normal operation of the unit. They also told me that the unit only supports a 2GB SD card maximum. 2GB?! This is a big letdown because I had high hopes placing my entire music collection onto one 8GB card. The unit may read some larger cards, but it is not supported and crashes the unit after a while. I kept getting "DB-ERROR2" when trying to use cards larger than 2GB.Other notes:* The remote control is worthless* Navigation using the wheel is incredibly hard when driving (I'm not kidding, it's almost unusable)* The sound quality and power is nice (except when using an iPod as the source via USB)* The sound quality when using an iPod via USB is flat* The Bluetooth function causes echo for the person you are talking to* The user interface is nice and cleanFinal verdict: Do not buy. The navigation wheel is cumbersome. No support for SD cards larger than 2GB.

Not that bad!

I've had one of these plows on my Yard Man Autodrive 17 HP tractor since 2000. I've worked its buns off and now need another one. Yeah, if you wait until you have 10" of heavy wet snow on the ground, you better get out the two-stage 4 stroke snow blower! But if you have a reasonable approach to it, this little blade will handle it. Take it from a guy who plows several times a week and lives in the high Colorado Mountains. You just can't expect it to be as powerful as a pickup truck with an 8 foot plow, chains, 4WD, etc. It's not that bad and sure has saved my back for the past seven seasons. You've got to have the wheel weights and chains! That's an absolute MUST! Also, try using the angle setting when plowing heaver snow. That way the snow will fly to one side or the other. M & D Mower has this plow for $365 plus shipping.

I would not have expected this item to work well for fear of the tractor being to weak or the plow to flimsy or the snow too heavy, etc..., except that my neighbor owns one and I used it last winter with great success. I have used mine 4 times now, and actually enjoy plowing my driveway (and I do some of the neighbors'drives and our sidewalks). My driveway is approx 100 feet long, so it was a daunting task to shovel it in previous years. I initially started looking for a snow thrower, but was turned off by many bad reviews online. (not to mention, this is 1/2 the cost of a small gas snow thrower) My tractor does not struggle at all to push moderate levels of snow. I use it with the blade to the side, and sweep the snow to the side, rather than push it straight. This seems to work incredibly well. I can literally plow my driveway perfectly clean in under 10 minutes. Try that with a snow blower (or shovel)!The item shipped fast. I had it Christmas week, within 3-4 days of ordering. It is built very well. All parts seem to be of very high quality. I was missing a part, as some have mentioned in reviews I've read. The parts are not sealed in a plastic bag, and some fell out and were loose in the box. I was missing a bolt and washer, which I replaced easily enough. Luckily all hardware is standard nuts and bolts, etc... which I had on hand, but any hardware store would also carry.One tip that should be in the directions: Apply a small amount of hand soap to the rubber handle to help it slide over the metal pole that operates the plow lift mechanism. I tried many methods to get it to slide on until I thought of this.I would heartily recommend this product to anyone. It is rare for me to be pleased with a product for it's durability and quality, but that is the case with this plow. The blade and mounting parts seem to be incredibly simple, and solidly made.Don't forget tire chains. I found great pricing and service at tirechains.com Get the "2 link spacing" for better traction. They are only slightly more expense than the 4-link version but work incredibly well. don't forget the springs to hold the chains tight for abhout $10.

Yep! Parts Were Missing!

I bought this snowplow because I had one like it many years back. That old one pushed a lot of snow! I sold my old tractor and blade. I decided to get another one for my newer garden tractor. I read the reviews and noticed a few people said that their plows arrived short some parts. I bet against the odds and figured it wouldn't happen to me. Yep! Sure enough, mine was short parts, too! The parts bag was intact with no tears or openings. I was missing the blade return spring, a handle bolt & hitch pin, and a number of other hitch pins. I had to go to the hardware store and pick the parts up there. Right now, I have purchased about $15.00 worth of necessary parts! How hard can it be to count out a small list of parts correctly?

I used these on my 2003 1800c for 7 years. They were great for roadtrips. I used them with the Kuryakyn 4401 pegs. The previous review surprises me. It isn't very informative and I couldn't find anything on the association page. I plan on putting them on my 2006 1800f.

Works great. Wish wiring harness could be better

Recently received and installed the new MediaBridge 1503 for my 2004 Infiniti FX35 base. I bought this with intention to play music off usb flash drive as well as using the bluetooth handsfree calling. The install process went smooth until the step where you plug in the included wiring harness into stock radio. First issue is that the plug going into radio is not the right type. It won't go all the way in and doesn't latch. Not a big deal cause when the radio is pushed back in the plug will be held in place and hopefully won't come loose. Secondly, one of the connector pin was install in reverse therefore can not lock in place in the connector socket. When pushing the connector into the radio, this pin will back out and not making good contact. Had to pull apart the plug and reinsert the pin the right way. Finally the sat connector is big flimy. Had to readjust some of the pins to make the radio able to see the MediaBridge.Overall the device is excellent. Both USB media playback and bluetooth calling are flawless. Sound coming out of it is way better than CD. But I would recommend that if you are not comfortable have a professional installer to install for you to avoid all the hassles.
