By forest42
I purchased the dice media bridge from this site, as it had the best price. I read the other reviews and saw that the functionality of this prodcut was hit and miss, but decided to purchase anyway as there are not a lot of options out there for my car. I have a 2007 prius without Aux input and needed something to play my ipod through my car. I had purchased and returned an fm transmitter (griffin i trip) as those things are fairly useless, and likely to cause an accident due to searching through frequencies while driving and lots of annoying static. In terms of the Dice. I can only get it to work in bluetooth mode, but that is fine becuase that is why i bought the bluetooth verision. Since the day of install i have not been able to access any of the options (1-6) as they no longer appear on my screen - so i control the music through the ipod itself (again fine for me). about 1 out of every 4 times the car does not recognize the device. to solve this problem i followed the steps provided by other users to switch off the CD mode to fm mode and then shut the power off to the stero before powering down the car. If i follow this step and the dice is not recognized when starting the car i power down the car and start again - and then it is regonized.I think for $250 this product needs to work a lot better. but i don't plan to return it because it works sometimes, and it is far more consistant than an fm transmitter at $60 and at least i don't have to wear my headphones while driving. So all in all i'm as satisfied as i expected with the crappy reviews, but if you don't want the hassle of dealing with a buggy product than buyer beware."The reviewer was compensated for posting this review. By A. Felson
Hardware: All connectors, except usb for flash updates are on same side of unit. I wish the user connectors were on the opposite side as the connections going to the car stereo. Dice intends unit to be hidden and extension cables brought out into the passenger compartment. If the usb/audio connectors were alone on one side then the box wouldn't have to be hidden.Sound quality is excellent.Software: Satellite radio: didn't have this so I can't comment on it. Bluetooth: If you use the mediabridge for phone calls, then you can't use it when the factory head unit is playing CDs or the radio. I have a phone that can connect to separate devices for phone and a2dp music playback, so that is the setup I used. In such a setup, the mediabridge does not auto-reconnect. I had to open my phone's bluetooth menu and connect manually. When playing from my phone's music library, and pandora, the mediabridge also operated "headset controls" -- hitting track back or track forward (steering wheel worked too) will send the commands to the phone. Nice being able to zap pandora songs from the steering wheel. USB: I don't have an ipod so I didn't test that. For memory sticks, the mediabridge is very limited and didn't meet my needs. It simply can't handle a large library. It doesn't scan the device like some decks, but it navigation is still very cumbersome. One can't navigate a folder hierarchy; all folders are offered in a linear fashion. By default the unit will shout "FOLDER MODE" after every folder change. This can be turned off. Even though I had a script go through my library and touch timestamps at 1 second intervals, I couldn't get the mediabridge to respect any sorting order. I think it goes by file creation and the user probably has to copy one track at a time to get them in order. Support: Dice is very slow to handle email or trouble tickets. I hear they are great if you call them on the phone. I eventually got an email reply and the person who reached me was very helpful.

By Joveasy
Im using this device on a 2005 Toyota Prius, i've been having issues ever since I purchased the device. When the device works it works flawlessly, but there would be times when it would just stop working while listening to music, talking on the phone, or even switching through Fm stations. it would just disappear from the cd mode options, and the only way to get the function back is to turn the car off and turn it back on.I've called support and it seemed like the only helpful support tech was Adam S. everybody else never called back or said they would talk to the engineer and wouldn't call back or respond to my e-mail. Adam notified me of the firmware update and even checked back with me to see if the issue was resolved, which unfortunately even with the 3123 update it still wasn't resolved.the device seems like a great device when it works and the controls are a bit of a learning curve, also its the only device i have seen on the market with a bluetooth option, which is why i haven't returned it. I guess Im just waiting for the update that will finally resolve this issue.
